Journey to Edinburgh…

“Finally, time to breathe…” I think as I settle my mug of tea back down onto the floor.

I stare around at the pieces of paper stacked in little mountain-high piles, heaps of material strewn across the floor, boxes piled to the ceiling and sigh heavily, feeling a sense of dread wash over me. This feels as if it will never be finished!

But no time for lack of motivation, endless paperwork beckons. I have to carry on.

I close my eyes and think of where I will be in less than a month’s time. Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Suddenly as this endless paperwork and months of hard work seems worthwhile. I lift another piece of paper and fill out yet another form, this time, smiling as I go.

Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Biggest arts festival in the world. 2453 shows. Gulp.

An overwhelming sense of pant-wetting fear hits me as I think of little old me arriving in Edinburgh in a few weeks.

Our theatre group, Evolve Theatre, believe passionately in the power of drama to draw attention to difficult issues. We hope that in Edinburgh we can raise funds and awareness for Childline, as we feel this is such a vital service to young people. We have a huge passion for performing and we feel so lucky that we are able to participate in such an incredible festival.

So if you are interested in coming along to see a quirky, insightful, emotionally charged play then have a look at our website http://www.evolvetheatre.co.uk and if you’re up in Edinburgh this summer, they please do pop along and say hello, we’re performing at TheSpace @ Jury’s Inn, on Jeffrey St (just off the Royal Mile) from 6th – 14th August  (not the 8th) at 7.10pm every evening.

So welcome to our journey, we’ll be updating this blog with all the latest news, photos, videos and maybe some funny stories. Thanks for taking the time to stop by.

See you soon

Emily
